Couple thousands miles of gear spread out.
Snowy San Juans, desert of Arizona, and gear for hundreds of miles of the Arctic Circle. This last week of logistics has been quite wild. I do feel a little more prepared than other years. Although I leave tomorrow and my pack is far from being ready. Logistics, maps, and bush pilots for my Alaska route has been the most time consuming. I am looking forward to meeting some legends in Alaska while hopefully running into similar faces in the villages. Back to the CDT: I will be heading south out of Rawlins, Wyoming. After the recent blizzard that destroyed 6 states at once, I'll be preparing for some gnarly stuff. Ice axe and snowshoes will help me keep a steady pace. I won't slide off the mountains with an ice axe and the snowshoes will help me from post-holing too much. Eventually, I will get back to see some green San Juans in my lifetime. For now I must fit it as my 2019 goals filled up.
