Slept in and let the dew dry off the rain fly. Half Dome wasn’t to far, the biggest challenge was hitching out of Yosemite and back to Tuolumne Meadows. Made it to the base, now just 2 miles from the top of Half Dome. Swung in around 5ish, made some grub to give us energy to make it to the top. Climbing up Half Dome is pretty serious stuff. One slip or fall climbing up and you could be toast. There are cables that start at the base and go all the way to the top. The climb had to be an 80 degree angle and go all the way to the top. Being later in the day, the cables became chilly. The top had astonishing 360 degree views of Yosemite Valley. The majestic trees towering above were a new twist on the trail. I leaned over the edge till my whole body got goosebumps. The drop off must of been over 1,000 feet.
