Rainy morning, I took my time breaking down camp and chatted with the family staying in the lean-to. It was awesome to see a whole family hiking the Appalachian Trail. They had 3 boys and 2 girls. They were all home-schooled from Dallas. With 25 miles today, I couldn’t talk long. The days turned out to be a nice in the afternoon. I made good time to Andover Road, which meant I had a huge 3.3 mile to the top. That eventually drop down to the highest lake in Maine, which also led into the Mahoosic Notch. I was having such a great day till my camera broke. The Mahoosics took the AT to a whole nother planet. Boulder after boulder, climbing over and under and even thru small openings, where you had to take your pack off. Getting past the Mahoosics took longer than expected, which then led to a half hour night hike. The night hike was beautiful in the moonlight. Everyone was sleeping by the time I showed up. Did all my deeds as fast as possible, sleep was greatly needed.
